2- Seva Project:

Volunteer your talents and passion to a charity, cause, or organization of your choice. Follow your heart, and choose a project or cause that really speaks to you and your heart. Either donate some of your time as a yoga teacher, or any of your other special talents to the cause. Perhaps you organize a community event. Or raise money for a cause. Maybe you teach free yoga classes at a Women's Shelter or preschool. Maybe you gather up coats for a homeless shelter, and/or care packs for those in need. Share your creativity and gifts with the community!

Please donate/share a minimum of three hours to this project. You will also write a 1-3 page essay on what this experience meant to you, how this experience helped your grow as a person, yogi, and teacher, and what the reaction was from those you served.

3. Personal Practice Cultivation:

You will adopt a full spectrum 30-40 day Yoga Practice! You will practice everyday for 30 days, starting on a meaningful and/or auspicious day. You will formulate your plan, after attending the "Cultivating a Personal Practice" Workshop.  At that workshop you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback from Carole.  From there, you will be committing to yourself a full month+ of deep Yoga Sadhana. More details will be revealed at the workshop, but you will be integrating elements of: meditation, pranayama, relaxation, ayurveda, and yogic lifestyle choices to your yoga practice. You will choose a focus/intention/sankalpa for your Sadhana, and journaling about your experience along the way.  The idea is, that after this focused practice, you may find that certain aspects of your practice are meant to last a lifetime!

4. Individual Asana Academy Alignment Project:

This project is designed to help you grow as a teacher AND student. This project will also help us learn non-judgement and acceptance of our physical bodies. At the attendance at the "Anatomy, Alignment, & Therapeutics in Asana" weekend, we will take 12 pictures of you in 12-14 key asanas. And you will also take pictures of another student in their 12 asanas. After we have taken the pictures, we will talk about the key energetics and alignment of each of the poses. These pictures are meant to be your “before” pictures. Then, at the end of the weekend after all our discussion and hands-on learning, we will ask you to take pictures of yourself in these same asanas. You will then submit all 24 photos, with a brief paragraph or two about your assessment of your “before”, “during”, and “after” experience with each asana. More details on this project will be given at the Workshop.

5.  Mentorship Experience:

As part of your training experience, there will be opportunities to serve as a Mentor to other teacher trainers.  This is a rich experience for both you, and the trainee that is the recipient of your talents!  Opportunities for Mentorship range from just a few hours, to a full partnership in our 200-Hour Program.  More details can be requested from Carole.

6.  Create a Workshop:

As part of your requirements, you will create a 1-2 hour workshop on your topic of choice.  Think of an area of yoga that you LOVE, and use that as inspiration!  You could share your knowledge of chakras or gemstones.  You could guide an experience of breath work, or maybe you want to teach beginners about the benefits of yoga! The world is your oyster!  Please note, you do not have to actually teach this workshop, unless you want to!  The learning comes in preparing and researching your topic and materials.  YOU get to decide if you would like to offer it as an actual workshop at any time.  Your requirement is simply to prepare a workshop, and turn in the information you would present to your students.

7.  hOMework:

Please complete any homework assignments given at modules attended, and submit them to Carole when requested or at the end with your other materials..

8.  Wisdom Writing:

For your final certification requirement, you will write a 3-5 page essay on a topic of your choosing, and how it relates to your growth as a yoga teacher. Your topic must be approved beforehand by Carole, and may include topics such as: Meditation, Self-Study, Charkas, Vayus, Embodiment, Philosophy, etc.  It is basically your opportunity to share how yoga has changed your life!!
